I nestled into this dimly lit, cozy nook that’s relatively new on the West Village scene. It definitely made a great first impression with its initial attraction being its low key sex appeal and totally organic menu. The French accent of my casually stylish waitress didn’t hurt either.
The walls were lined with colorful tins of organic teas from around the world which boasted their very own menu and turned out to be the bistro's best feature; served in a glass tea mug with its own infuser. Although my pear salad with arugula, walnuts, shaved parmesan and balsamic vinaigrette was exquisitely presented and undoubtedly fresh, I didn’t feel any sparks.
And with a clear view across the street into Equinox Fitness, where chiseled men were pumping iron, my salad just couldn’t hold my attention. It was like having okay sex while fantasizing about someone else. But The Tea Set begs lingering and so I did; sipping on a cup of Organic Sensual Good Night and dreaming of a time when my single life might be less voyeuristic.
