Turn-Ons: Project 40 is my new religion. It grounds me, guides me toward a deeper relationship with myself, renews my faith in intuition & gives me hope for my future.
Turn-Offs: Only that the process is like looking in the mirror & sometimes I don't like the reflection.

I’ve sadly learned that the Law of Attraction isn’t some metaphysical magic trick that ushers abundance into our lives just because we rip out colorful magazine images representing our wildest dreams and glue them to a vision board. Or because we repeat positive affirmations in the mirror daily. That’s just a labor intensive version of wishful thinking. If it were really that simple I’d be a multi-million dollar entrepreneurial powerhouse traveling the world and the TV talkshow circuit promoting my books and workshops. I’d be spending downtime between my lavish homes in NYC, Los Angeles, & Barcelona (where I’d perfect my Spanish). I’d be incredibly healthy and fit thanks to my personal chef and fitness trainers specializing in Pilates, Anusara yoga, Redcord and pole dancing. Oh, and of course I’d be married to The Rock. Instead I’m that proverbial starving artist;living alone (read: single) in a NYC studio apartment, cooking meals for one and somehow squeezing my favorite fitness classes into my budget. My last real vacation was a Cabo San Lucas splurge for my 40th b-day two years ago and, alas, I’m still holding out for The Rock.
While my life certainly doesn’t suck, my reality has definitely taught me that in order for “The Law of Attraction” to work, it requires action and accountability on my part. Otherwise vision boards and affirmations are simply decorative reminders of what I lack and empty rhetoric.
An admitted Gemini "dreamer", I’m slowly transforming into a focused and proactive "doer" since making Project 40 a consistent practice in my life. Project 40, created by Jungian psychoanalyst Sherene Schostack, is a forty day guided process dedicated to focusing your attention on how your thinking and behavioral patterns affect your ability to live your purpose and achieve your goals. It forces you to:
- Get real with yourself
- Honor your physical body
- Use your intuition
- Give up attachments
- Relinquish that which doesn’t serve you
- Seek inspiration
- Create structure in your life
This 40 day commitment is a daily process that involves in-depth journaling, self-examination, self-nurturing, heightened awareness, creativity and ritual. It feels like a mental and emotional cleansing that unburdens you of the blocks preventing you from moving forward in your life and manifesting your dreams.
Today marks day 30 for me! In 11 more days, I’ll repeat the process again. JOIN ME!
