Who doesn't wanna walk into a room and be treated like an A-lister? Well, I recently indulged in such super-star treatment at the Ted Gibson Salon. Even I, a mere commoner, didn't have to endure long waits in the reception area reading gossip magazines. Nor did I have to endure extensive deep conditioning treatments with my head arched awkwardly over the sink while my stylist catered to her over booked schedule of more important clients. Nope. For once, it was all about me!
In fact, I was greeted warmly and instantly whisked away into a changing room to slip into a sumptuous, chocolate brown salon robe; after which I was offered my tea of choice and escorted to my stylist's station. I had barely taken a sip or opened the first page of my Marie Claire magazine before my highly recommended stylist, Sade, arrived to assess the condition of my hair and determine how she could best help me achieve my desired look. Because I'm a curly-top, she cut and shaped my dry coils with artistic care and precision before introducing me to her assistant who gave me a brief head, neck and shoulder massage. Next, at the wash station, I received a thorough and vigorous shampoo treatment followed by the pleasure of sitting upright with a deep conditioner penetrating my scalp as my hands were moisturized and massaged with one of Ted Gibson's signature products. The final stage of my beauty treatment was back at Sade's station where she gave me the blowout of all blowouts. My hair was pure fabulosity! The entire experience and my new look was exactly what this Indie Girl needed.
I became that vain girl who took every opportunity to peek at her reflection in store windows.
