Turn Ons: BRGR is a decent destination for heartbreak sufferers who rely on fast food to ease the pain and wanna indulge without destroying their health or the planet.
Turn Offs: The food was good, but not as good as Bareburger. I'd definitely return if my heart was broken & I happened to be in Chelsea.

Not only did my first date in four years cancel on me (emotional buzz kill) but, add to that, it was grey, dreary and rainy outside (amplifying said buzz kill). Ah, what a perfectly depressive day for self-pitying and over-indulgent eating. So I made it my goal to sedate myself into a fast food-induced coma, only to revive myself later with a dose of love in the form of chocolate. BRGR was in the neighborhood so I gave it a shot. Yep, I sank my chompers into a juicy (but small) burger topped with crispy apple smoked bacon, avocado and their own special BRGR sauce (thousand island dressing, maybe?), nested on a bed of romaine (gluten-free option) and served with a side of shoestring-style sweet potato fries. Okay, so it was nothing to write home about but it fulfilled my gluttonous needs. Plus it made me feel that, although I don't make the healthiest relationship choices, at least I'm smart enough to choose grass-fed beef when it comes to my burgers. So I'm gonna brag a little here. The burger I chose to eat was raised on a proper, healthy herbivorous diet; free of artificial hormones and antibiotics. And, my burger had higher levels of Omega-3 fatty acids and vitamin E than the average burger and used half the amount of fossil fuel to produce it. Good for me, good for the planet. So, I don't totally suck as a human even if I can't get (keep) a date.
In pure bloated discomfort and emotional misery, I went home to curl up with my dog and favorite Mast Brother's chocolate (locally handcrafted in Brooklyn) while catching up on my Netflix cue. FML.
