- Persona versus True Self?
- Dishonesty versus Integrity?
- Judged versus Loved?
- Fake versus Genuine?
Just as misery loves company, authenticity does too! That's why last week's #52PickMeUp was so important. It was all about creating your own personal manifesto because, in order to live an authentic life, you have to first know who you are, who you want to become, what motivates you, what you stand for and what you believe in. And then, when you experience the freedom that comes from unconditional self-acceptance and living your purpose you make empowered choices; including the people you accept into your life. You will only surround yourself with people that love, support and celebrate you for exactly who you are because integrity is paramount to your happiness.
If you had to choose between superficial relationships versus soul-to-soul connections, my guess is that you'd pick whatever feels genuine, real and trustworthy. If you had to choose between negative and judgmental people who operate from a place of fear versus positive, open-minded people who operate from a place of love; you'd probably choose the latter. Take a good look at YOUR TRIBE -- the people you call friends. Are they a reflection of your authentic self? Do you share the same core values? Does your spirit come alive in their company?
A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow. ~ William Shakespeare
